The Structure for Marine Loading Arm AM63

Marine Loading Arm Structure

General Description

Marine loading arm is the special equipment for loading/unloading fluid materials crossing over the jetty and tanker, with swivel joints connecting pipelines, assisted by a supporting structure, including other accessories such as control systems required by customers.

At present, the marine loading/unloading arms has many structural forms in such series as AM61, AM62, AM63 and AM64.

According to the difference in physical and chemical features and temperature of the transmission medium, the arms can be designed in many pipe forms such as carbon steel, stainless steel and heat tracing. The temperature range covers -196~250ºC, with a maximum design pressure of 10Mpa and nominal pipe sizes from DN80 to DN600 (3"~24").

The operating mode can be designed as manual or electro-hydraulic control type. During the fluid transmission process, the arm can move with the tanker within the normal drift range. It can also be equipped with a visual sound alarm device through a travel monitoring system.

Components: Pipeline, plumbing accessories, swivel joint, balancing assembly, supporting structure, and operating system.

AM62 Structure Features

A part of the product pipe provides support to the loading arm, but most weight and loads are supported by an independent body or supporting auxiliary organizations. Inner and outer arms share one counterweight system. Mixed mode support for single-tube loading arms are compactly structured, suitable for large-tonnage vessels.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the primary function of a marine loading arm?
It is specialized equipment designed for the safe and efficient transfer of fluid materials (liquids or gases) between a jetty and a tanker.
2. What temperature ranges can these loading arms handle?
Our loading arms are designed to operate in extreme conditions, with a temperature range from -196ºC to 250ºC.
3. Are there different control modes available?
Yes, the operating mode can be customized as either manual or electro-hydraulic control depending on the model and customer requirements.
4. What materials are used for the piping?
Depending on the medium and temperature, pipes are typically constructed from carbon steel or stainless steel, and can include heat tracing if required.
5. How does the arm handle the movement of the tanker?
The arm is equipped with high-quality swivel joints that allow it to move within the normal drift range of the tanker during fluid transmission.
6. What anti-corrosion measures are taken for marine environments?
The equipment undergoes a multi-stage process including shot blasting (Sa2.5), epoxy zinc-rich primer, MIO epoxy intermediate coating, and a chlorinated rubber finish.
