A Load Moment Indicator (safe load indicator or Crane computer) is a critical safety device installed on various types of cranes, including mobile, crawler, tower, gantry, portal, marine, and offshore cranes. It alerts the operator if the lift exceeds the safe operating range. In certain scenarios, the device will physically lock out the machinery to prevent unsafe operations.
The system ensures that lifting equipment functions according to the manufacturer's suggested safe load charts. Measured parameters such as load weight, working radius, control limit, angle, and boom extension are displayed in real-time within the operator's cabin.
